Those sports are the best medicine
If we say the word "sport", I assume that no one will argue on its benefit for our health. It positively affects not only physical health but also our mental health. We cannot deny that the popularity of running is growing up every year during the past decade. It's very delightful that we, Hi, always receive an opportunity to build up the balloon arches in every running event. So, let's see the fantastic benefit of running.
First of all, we would like to respectfully engage the royal guidance of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej which was given to the committee of the royal sports club at Chitralada Palace on August 30, 1971, that said:
"… running is a high benefit sport because this kind of sport can show everyone the importance of exercise. Running is another choice of economized exercise because it does not require any equipment. According to the academic principal, running is a perfect exercise with the sport principle which possibly creates a vigorous body. Running is a part of making everyone has a healthy life…"
According to the support and recommendation from King Rama 9, it is such a great encouragement and fortune for all runners. His speech mentioned running is appropriate for all genders and ages, save money, less equipment, and the most important thing is running can make us healthy. Therefore, it’s not surprising why the popularity of running is increasing as same as cycling.
The running can be counted as a competition, most of them competing by running distance and time. Most of the events that Hi join for balloon arches preparation are marathon events.
Marathon is an extraordinary sport; it's focusing on self-competition. From a large number of competitors, actually, there will be not over 5 athletes who will be rewarded with trophies or medals. How about the rest? No one would remember which rank they are, or they may leave during the race, it's possible. But all of them still keep running to the finish line, for what purposes?
The answer is… to prove something, like proof that we are able to beat ourselves, an exhausting emotion, painful muscles, hot climate, sticky skin and humiliated. As I said before, no one knows will we reach the finish line, but our mind knows. If we cannot defeat it, this will discourage you in the forthcoming.
Consequently, the actual core of marathon is a mind (and body) strengthening for handling with a negative attitude that originates in our mind. Some runners have practiced for a year to attend a few hours of competition and the feeling of accomplishment would be an invaluable prize for this effort.
